Melons, Mangoes & Exotics

The main types of melon are honeydew melons, watermelons and cantaloupe. Honeydew melons have ribbed yellow skin with firm, pale green flesh and a honey like sweetness. Watermelons have crumbly deep pink flesh with a soft crunch and black seeds throughout. It has a refreshing sweetness and hint of bitterness. Cantaloupe have a rough scaly skin with a vibrant orange flesh. They are sweeter and more tender than Honeydew melons.

Pomegranate is a round fruit with a hard, deep red exterior. When cut open the small pea-sized seeds or arils are exposed which is the edible part of the fruit.

Mangoes are fairly large stone fruits native to Asia. They have green skin with a red blush and edible yellow flesh that has a sweet flavour and can be slightly tangy.

Figs are considered fruits, yet are actually flowers encased in an edible shell.
